Overdue Notice: your post is very overdue
[mood: let's go running for an hour or so. i'm serious.] [listening to: washing machine (and yes, that is a song, although i'm talking about the one in my laundry room)]
Well, I haven't actually written a post about my life, so I thought I'd do that for once.
This week was Homecoming at Norfolk Academy. It was pretty cool, and loads of stuff happened, so I'll start from the beginning. This week was also Spirit Week.
Monday: super-hero day (I forgot to dress up)
Tuesday: pirate day (I looked more like a french sailor with an eye patch)
Wednesday: tacky tourist day (sunscreen on the nose and enormous binoculars around the neck). I got asked to the [Sadie Hawkins] Homecoming dance while running a distance workout for cross country. haha. That's a LONG story. Maybe you guys will hear it later. Now, on Wednesday I also caught the bug that was going around, and since I went to the opera that night, I didn't get much in the way of sleep. Needless to say, I can estimate that I used at least a couple hundred tissues over the next four days.
Thursday: Hampton Roads day (oh, the irony. "Virginia Beach pride" is most definitely an oxymoron). That was the day I was worried I would be too sick for Homecoming.
And of course Friday was blue and orange day, on which day we cross country guys wore our race jerseys and shivered in the cold ACed rooms. Friday was the cross country meet, which was awesome. I made my best time for a race: 5K in 20:02. (That's 3.1 miles to you guys.) I must say I surprised myself because I was dog tired. Imagine if i was healthy--I could've shaved off at least another 30 seconds from my time.
So, on Saturday, I had a voice lesson. Then I went to the Homecoming picnic and saw some of my friends in the Fine Arts demo. I was supposed to meet my date at the Homecoming game, but I fell asleep at home and got to the game AFTER she left. oops. Actually, I was supposed to be selling drinks, but they ran out by the time I got there. (yay!) So, I go back home, call Anna and find out we're going to Bravo's with 9 other couples. By my math, there were 20 of us Juniors. It goes well, but there was absolutely NO WAY we would ever make the dance in time, so I tell my dad not to worry about driving us there. Long story short, there is plenty of time, so my dad has to drive all the way back and pick us up and take us to the dance. Now, the dance: it was plenty of fun (minus all the grinding)--everybody enjoyed themselves, and I got all my non-dancing friends to dance. Phew! That was one long week.
On a sadder note (adagio in the key of e minor, maybe?) I will not be able to make it to the PA homecoming, *tear* but I hope you guys have loads of fun.
Just no dirty dancing, k? k.
On a lighter note (something like 'nanny-nanny boo-boo') I DON'T HAVE SCHOOL TODAY!!! haha. Sorry guys. Ya know, I haven't talked to many of you in forever. You should call me. I don't wanna call you in case you have tons of homework, but if you don't, CALL ME!!! We all need to hang out some time.
