Post, post

[mood: alright] [watching: arrested development?]

So, a post once a month-ish? Eh... well,

Maybe.

I do wish the site were a little more active sometimes, and I hope to start that initiative now, with hopefully something special planned in December.

And by "start that initiative," I mean take a few minutes out of my day, talk about meself a little, and post up some Dailies I've been saving (as promised!).

So, Columbia's fine, thanks for asking. I have a job now that pays well, but that means I have to manage my own money, which is new, exciting, and terrifying because less than six hours ago, I only had $.37 in my bank account to spend. I'm also writing for another, campus blog now, whose style and management is much different from Hublog's, from which I've learned somewhat what the "corporate" blogging atmosphere is like (i.e., posts/hour, pre-written content, etc.).

Not sure what I'm doing for Thanksgiving, possibly going up to Boston because it's cheaper than going back down to VB (again, money management). I'll definitely be back for IB grad and Christmas, though. Again, hopefully something special then.

Stay tuned.

I pledge to do this more often.

Now.

Dailies.

As promised.

  • [ARTICLE] Should Have Gone to Tufts - You know how long I've been saving these for once you look at the dates. But yeah. They're freaky.

  • [VIDEO] There's a history there - An ethnic showdown last month on a San Francisco bus. Clash of the middle-aged, apron-wearing titans. With rice. And fried chicken.

  • [ARTICLE] Geocities ends - And, finally, as an homage to a site that initially got me into web development, we mourn the loss of Geocities, and along with it, Final Fantasy fansites and the <BLINK> tag.

Oh and why not, in celebration of the first post in 27 days, I'll give you guys a little something special... Google Wave! (if you want it) I'm not sure when I'll have the ability to give out invites, but if you guys want one, drop your Gmail in the comments.

i'll take a wave! you know my email.
and ps that chart confused me for a second--i thought the thin line was the bar, like they purposefully made 5k bigger than 3 mil. but maybe i was just confused because it's almost 1 in the morning...

*sigh* I'll miss geocities. Although the impact of this announcement really brings into perspective how old we are right now.

whoa. duuuuuude. we're ancient.
it also kinda puts into perspective the accelerated modern cycle of innovation and obsolescence

I'm working at the IT department in a building here; it's actually an idea better saved for a post--look for it next week.

And no Wave invites for me yet... maybe I actually have to use the service to get invite privileges...

On a similar note, Google chrome for mac is out now. Well a beta copy, but it's pretty good nonetheless.

You're next on Mrs. Smith's list. Better have something good.
