For all my fans out there, I just wanted to let you guys know that I am alive. It's just been busy and I haven't gotten much time to post anything for a while. So yes.
I would write a whole novel on my trip at P.I., but I don't have much time. All I can say is that it was a really different experience-- living in houses with two rooms, where everyone slept in one room. I never really appreciated the things I have back in VA until I saw how my cousins live everyday.
I've never lived like this before. It was such a contrast to the daily life in VA that it took some time before I got comfortable to the lifestyle in PI. The places I went to were filled with people living in the street, beggars, little children carrying sacks of rice for money, and street vendors selling anything they could sell for a profit. It's tough just trying to survive in PI.
Also, it's always hot there. Easy way to lose weight if you ask me.
Also, it's way too polluted in some of the places in PI. The streets of Baguio were filled with tons of cars, jeepneys, and taxis that when I thought I saw a cloud was actually a large heap of pollution. The funny thing was that the welcome sign to the city states, "Welcome to the cleanest city in the Philippines!"
For all you game nerds, I got a PS2, 15 (bootleg) games, a PS2 bag, V-stand, a cooling fan, two controllers, and a memory card for the very, very low price of 180 dollars. Everything. is. cheap. in. the. Philippines.
After coming back to VA, it felt a bit weird coming back and going back to the daily routine of summer. Staying at home to babysit my sister. Now that I think about it, I miss the Philippines a lot. I miss the people. I miss the familiar language. I miss the closeness of the whole family, including the cousins. Besides the bug bites, the weather, and the pollution, I miss it all.
Eh, I said I didn't want to write a whole novel, and I didn't. There are too many things I left out. But, I think this will suffice.
